Book Fair Results
Our goal for the Fall Book Fair was to sell 1,464 books, but we only sold 1,211, so we did not meet our goal. Maybe we can make that up at our Spring Book Fair at the end of February.
We raised $60.95 for All For Books, so we were able to purchase some books from the Book Fair for the library. The more money we raise, the more Scholastic donates to kids and schools in need and the more books we can buy for our library!

Book Fair Results!!!!
Our goal was to sell 1,150 books, and we sold 1,452!!! WOO HOO!
We also raised $68.95 for ALL FOR BOOKS!! We got just over $68.00 worth of books from the Book Fair to add to our library collection, and Scholastic donated almost $70 worth of books to kids in need! Awesome way to help both our library and kids in need!!
The Spring Book Fair will be in March, so please be ready to volunteer. That was one area where we really fell short for this Book Fair... we had VERY few volunteers!! :(
That meant that I had to teach classes, run the Book Fair and monitor all students by herself most of the day. I also didn't have any volunteers to help at Family Night, and if you saw that crazy long line, you know how much I needed help!! Plus, having registers that were acting up made lines even longer -- you can be sure I reported the issues to Scholastic, so it shouldn't happen again!!
Special thanks to Jessica and Diem who saw the line and jumped in to help! THANK YOU!!

Our Fall Theme is Monster Book Fair... where Reading is So Much Fun, You'll Get Goosebumps!

BOGO Book Fair
Buy 1, Get 1 FREE On EVERYTHING!!!
We celebrated Children's Book Week with our first ever BOGO Book Fair in May! We met our fundraising goals for both our Fall and Spring Book Fairs, so Scholastic allowed me to host our BOGO Book Fair to thank our parents, teachers and community for their support of our Book Fairs.
The Book Fairs are the ONLY fundraiser for the Media Center, and it's how we get money to buy new books and materials. We get VERY LITTLE money for books, materials, supplies and such, especially in the last few years of severe budget cuts. Your support of the Book Fairs is VITAL to the health of our Media Center, so I wanted to thank you by giving our families, teachers and community the BOGO deal! Thanks so much!
Help us meet our goals next Fall and Spring, and maybe we can have our 2nd Annual BOGO Book Fair! WOO HOO!
We have wrapped up the Spring Book Fair!
We did the All For Books charity fundraiser again. All the money you donated was used to buy books for our Media Center! Scholastic will match your donations and give books to abused and homeless children. So all donations will do double duty - donations provide addtional books for our school Media Center and they help kids in need get books too.
Thanks for your generosity!!
We raised $82.46 this time!

with the All for Books money!
Thank You to our Leaders!
Candace Lankford, School Board Member, and Mrs. Gonzalez, Principal, helped point out some great books at the Fall Book Fair. Thank you so much for showing your love for books!
Mrs. Lankford recommended a true classic: Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry, while Mrs. Gonzalez recommended a really cool science book called: Why Do Feet Smell? 20 Questions and Answers About the Human Body.

THE BOOK FAIR?
I *LOVE* the Book Fair!!!
Tell me all about it!!!
We wrapped up the Fall Book Fair! The Book Fair is the only fundraiser that the Media Center does each year and every purchase you make earns money for our school which allows us to buy more books and equipment for the Media Center. As you know, school budgets have been slashed, so the Book Fair is more important now than ever before!
We need more books! Our kids LOVE checking out books every week or two and they are literally clearing the shelves!!! We check in over 200 hundred books a day most days, and when they return books, the kids check out more, so about 200 more go out each day!! We can easily have 1400 books checked out at a time, which explains why our shelves often look empty!

All for Books Charity & School Fundraiser
We began collecting donations around Oct. 3rd through the end of the Book Fair on Oct. 18th.
We collected.... (drum roll, please) .......................
$205.35!!!!!!!
AWESOME work, Manatees!!!!
Especially in difficult times, it is more important to give back to those even less fortunate than ourselves. This event raised money for charity AND for our school because Scholastic Book Fairs will match your donations with a donation of up to one million books to two non-profit organizations dedicated to helping children, families, and teachers acquire books and educational resources - Kids In Need Foundation and Kids in Distressed Situations, Inc.
This means every penny, nickel, dime and quarter your child brought to school will stay at our school so we can buy more books for the Media Center! It's a WIN-WIN situation! Thank you all so much for sending in that change so that we could help kids in need and fill our bookshelves!!!!!
